Job summary
We are seeking an experienced pharmacy leader to join our team and take responsibility for the strategy, transformation, and management of the Trust's clinical pharmacy services.
You will be joining a friendly and well respected team and will work closely with the Chief Pharmacist during an exciting time of service transformation. High on our agenda is the introduction of electronic prescribing and a medicines administration system, along with a variety of other developments with which you will play a key role.
An inspirational operational leader who empowers and supports your team, you will have a track record of delivering a high performing pharmacy service and will be ready for your next challenge. You will contribute to the Trust's pharmacy and medicine strategy, be a key member of the department's leadership team, and deputise for the Chief Pharmacist.

Main duties of the job
- Providing leadership and management accountability for clinical pharmacy services throughout the Trust, ensuring effective use of human and financial resources in pursuit of agreed pharmacy and corporate goals.
- The delivery and development of a pro-active, high quality clinical pharmacy service which encompasses monitoring, decision making and clinical governance requirements as necessary, in order to maintain clinical and operational cover.
- Leading and directing the management, development and vision for the clinical pharmacy services with regards to the strategic direction of the pharmacy department and the Trust.
- Supporting the Chief Pharmacist in all aspects of Medicines Optimisation, including associated standards required by regulators, commissioners and other authoritative bodies such as General Pharmaceutical Council, Royal Pharmaceutical Society, CQC, NICE, HEE, etc.
- Joint accountability within the pharmacy senior leadership team for governance and assurance around medicines management.
- Joint accountability for the operational management of the department and shared responsibility for the financial performance of the department, including the achievement of financial targets, balancing the potentially conflicting demands of budgetary requirements and clinical standards.
