TINKERBELL OUT PATIENTS / RAINBOW DAY CARE

37.5 hours per week (Monday - Friday, rotational shifts to cover 07.30 - 18.00)

The paediatric services at The Hillingdon Hospital comprises of an inpatient ward with a level 1 HDU, a children's day medical and surgical unit, and an children's outpatient department.

The successful applicant will be required to work across two areas of our service, the children's outpatient department and children day care services as both these teams work collaboratively. By working across both areas, the post holder has the opportunity to experience a wide range of clinical conditions, procedures and clinics.

Both the children's out patients and children's day care departments provided a dedicated services for children from 0-16 years, with a few children who are transitioning to adult care staying till their 18th birthday.

Main duties of the job

The outpatients team manages a wide variety of clinics from general surgery, gastroenterology, general medicine, neonatal care, genetics, allergy and respiratory, cardiology, diabetes and neurology. The children's day care team have an equally broad workload and care for children requiring day surgery and procedures such as allergy challenges, scan's under sedation, regular infusions and clinical reviews. Both teams also support our level one Paediatric Oncology Shared Care Unit service with a weekly clinic.

The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute Hospital in the London Borough of Hillingdon and offers a wide range of services including accident and emergency, inpatient care, day surgery, outpatient clinics and maternity services.
