Job summary

Job Summary / Statement

  1. Responsible for the timely and accurate billing of debtors and collection of income to the Trust from patients, staff and NHS/Non NHS Organisations.
  2. Investigates financial enquiries, providing assistance & advice as required.
  3. Ensures financial information is processed in accordance with procedures and in order to provide information for statutory returns.
  4. Provides advice to patients, customers regarding charges.

Main duties of the job

Main duties

  1. Monitoring and analysing customer accounts to identify overdue payments.
  2. Contacting customers via phone, email, or letters to follow up on outstanding payments and resolve payment issues.
  3. Negotiating payment terms and arrangements with customers, if necessary.
  4. Recording and updating payment information in the company's financial systems.
  5. Issuing statements and reminders to customers about their outstanding balances.
  6. Investigating and resolving discrepancies or disputes related to payments.
  7. Assessing the creditworthiness of new and existing customers before extending credit.
  8. Collaborating with sales and customer service teams to address payment-related queries.
  9. Providing regular reports and updates to management regarding the status of outstanding payments and credit risk.
  10. Implementing and enforcing credit policies and procedures to minimise bad debts and improve cash flow.

The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital in the London Borough of Hillingdon and offers a wide range of services including accident and emergency, inpatient care, day surgery, outpatient clinics and maternity services. The Trust's services at Mount Vernon Hospital include routine day surgery, delivered at a modern treatment centre, a minor injuries unit and outpatient clinics.
