Job summary
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated Manager of Medical Education at Hillingdon Hospital for maternity cover of 9 to 12 months (secondments will be considered).
The post holder will take overall managerial and operational responsibility for all aspects of the day-to-day running of the Education Centre, including Postgraduate, Undergraduate Medical Education Simulation and Library Teams, liaising closely with the Director of Medical Education (DME) & Director of Clinical Studies (DCS), and Deputy Director of Learning & Organisational Development to provide the best possible support to all medical staff and students in the best possible educational facilities.
The post-holder will work with educational leads, including Training Programme Directors (TPDs), to ensure that the education contract for Undergraduate and Postgraduate Medical Education is fulfilled and that educational targets are met.

Main duties of the job
- The post holder will be required to maintain and manage the Hillingdon Hospital medical education to ensure effective education administration is delivered to all medical staff across the Trust and to all medical students on placement at the Trust.
- The post holder will support the strategic development of medical education, specialist medical training knowledge and planning and leadership to the administration team of medical education. This includes providing guidance and management support to local faculty groups, undergraduate medical education, committees, Director of Medical Education, Training programme Directors particularly focusing on the interpretation of national policies and current legislation relating to medical education and service level agreements.
- Monitor compliance of Educational Supervisors against the Educational Framework and ensure there is sufficient provision of ongoing training for educational supervisors to meet compliance requirements.
- Work with lead clinicians and senior managers on strategic development for education initiatives and promote such educational and training initiatives for the training of doctors, providing guidance where necessary.
- Support the DME, DCS & DUE to deliver high standard of medical education.
- Active involvement as an up-to-date expert in medical education and having the ability to disseminate information to key stakeholders.
- Deliver specialist knowledge, professional advice and useful guidance to all medical staff.
