Job summary
MHDU is the Medical Haematology day unit of the Hillingdon Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, and cares for all Haematology and Medical patients who require treatment that can be performed as a day case.
About our services:
The unit provides nursing care for patients with a wide range of haematological and medical conditions, both malignant and non-malignant.
These include Leukaemia's, Lymphomas, Multiple Myeloma, immune deficiencies, rheumatology renal, neurological, gastroenterology and non-malignant blood conditions.
The unit operates from Monday - Friday between 08.30hrs - 17.00 hrs.

Comprehensive training is given on the unit for all aspects in cannulation, phlebotomy, and chemotherapy administration. Main duties of the job
The unit offers a great learning environment with lots of challenges for nurses to develop practitioner and specialist roles.
We also offer internal rotation through the Haematology service enabling the post holder to gain experience within Anti-coagulation and Blood transfusion.
The post holder will be expected to work in the Anti-coagulation clinic 1 day a week as part of the post and provide cover if needed.
We are looking for enthusiastic nurses to join our team. The post holders will be expected to ensure safe and effective plans of care are delivered to all patients to a high standard and to be involved in the organising of care to patients on clinical trials with the trial co-ordinator.
Ideally you will have at least 12 months post registration experience.
Cannulation and phlebotomy skills would be desirable.
