Jersey ward is a friendly 30 bedded acute surgical ward, which caters for both male and female patients. We provide care for general surgical, gynaecology and urology patients. We also look after Orthopaedic and medical patients as ward out-layers.
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a junior sister to join our forward thinking team. We are looking for a keen and enthusiastic individual who is keen to bring positive change and improve patient care. As well as providing clinical expertise, the junior sister will also provide a supportive and advisory role to other members of the team, including the ward manager. Additionally, you would be involved in improving the quality of our patient care through regular audits, incident management, staff development, MDT coordination and budget management. It is essential to have a minimum of 3 years band 5 experience on a surgical ward, with experience of taking charge on a shift.

Main duties of the job
There is room for professional and personal development, this can be in the form of CDP courses as discussed and highlighted through regular PDRs.
1. The maintenance of a high standard of individual patient care in conjunction with the ward manager.
2. The provision of a good learning environment.
3. Working with other professional groups to facilitate an effective service to patients.
4. Support the ward manager in all aspects of his / her duties and responsibilities
