Job summary
- Responsible for the operational management of building and engineering services for the organisation and for the management of the Trust's Estate.
- Responsible for the performance of the in-house Estates Maintenance multi-skilled workforce at both The Hillingdon Hospital and Mount Vernon Hospital sites in regards to work orders being attended to and completed within the SLA allocated.
- Has overall responsibility for ensuring that engineering maintenance, including contracted work is carried out to appropriate standards and specifications
- Provide expert specialist and professional building and engineering expertise to other Estates staff, Directors, Senior Management of the Trust and external agencies (refer to list of the "Key Working Relationships")
- Undertake Authorised Person responsibilities, in line with Health Technical Memoranda, for relevant engineering elements.
- Deputise for the Head of Estates Maintenance and work closely with the Head of Compliance; Head of Capital; Head of Sustainability; all Estates Officers; Authorising Engineers.
- Direct line management of the Estates Maintenance Manager.
- To efficiently manage the Estates Maintenance budgets and control expenditure on stores and reactive maintenance which will be regularly reviewed with the Head of Estates Maintenance.
- To review, revise and update Trust/Departmental Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
Main duties of the job
- Take part in the on-call rota.
- Deputise for Head of Estates Maintenance during periods of absence.
- Directly line manage and carry out regular 121s for the Estates Maintenance Manager
- Efficiently manage the Estates Maintenance budgets (e.g. stores and reactive maintenance) and have a "Budget Control" system in place.
- To review, revise and update Trust/Departmental Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Liaise with other Estates Officers to ensure harmonisation in working practices Trust wide.
- Any other duty that may be requested by senior management.
