Job summary

An exciting opportunity exists for a Band 6 Registered Nurse/Midwife with current NMC Registration as a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (HV) or Paediatric Nurse to work in our busy Looked After Children's Service in Enfield. You will be an enthusiastic, innovative and highly motivated individual, eager to contribute to the development and implementation of a highly specialised quality service.

Main duties of the job

You will be based in a community setting, co-located with a multi-disciplinary team and managed by the Named Nurse for Looked After Children. The post holder is required to travel outside of Enfield, on a regular basis to attend meetings and provide a service to Enfield's Looked After Children. This will include travelling to other boroughs but only journeys that are achievable within the working day.

Health care professionals have an important role to play in enabling looked after children to overcome disadvantages and to reach their full potential. Our team works creatively with children and young people, in partnership with their carers, local authorities, other disciplines and agencies to deliver quality services to provide optimal health outcomes in complex situations.

If you can assess needs, willing to learn and develop your career and able to work independently and flexibly to meet service demands, we would like to hear from you.

A full valid driving license and access to a car to use regularly for business purposes is essential (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).

About us

North Mid is part of North Central London integrated care system - consisting of the NHS and Local authority organisations in Camden, Islington, Barnet, Enfield and Haringey. As with other ICS's, we are working increasingly closely with partners and indeed many of our financial and performance objectives are measured at this system level. Whilst all organisations remain as standalone, statutory bodies we have an ICS infrastructure for making shared decisions and agreeing shared approaches.

We are proud of our staff and want to ensure their training allows them to provide excellent clinical care. We are also a training unit for medical students from UCL and St George's University Grenada, and for nursing and midwifery students from Middlesex and City Universities.
