Job summary

As Business Intelligence Analyst, you will be responsible for the provision of information, analytics and predictive modelling services to support business needs. The role requires advanced analytical skills and the ability to guide and advice on business intelligence and information management.

You will use your knowledge of core business processes together with your technical acumen to be anauthoritative source for all business intelligence needs; leading on data acquisition, data transformation, data quality, data analysis, data presentation and technical implementation.

Specifically we are looking for someone who is:o Highly numerate,o A good communicator with people from across the organisationo A confident user of pivot tables in MS Excel,o Able to use complex excel formulas,o Can draw charts and graphs,o Aware of the processes that occur within the hospital,o And Ideally able to use SQL to query relational databases

The post holder will be responsible for statutory returns, internal performance reporting, ad-hoc requests and providing informatics support to organisational projects. You will be required to work with colleagues form right across the trust.

Main duties of the job

A Business Intelligence Analyst is accountable for the submission of statutory, routine and ad-hoc returns. They provide authoritative information, guidance and advice on analytical solutions and implementation and ensure compliance with information policies, standards, and strategy. The role will require you to undertaking data analysis, data modelling and data transformation based upon identified business needs and carry our demand and capacity analysis to support divisional planning. You will need to be able to construct SQL queries to analyse patient activity information.

  • Detailed knowledge of NHS data sources and flows, practices, data definitions and standards.
  • Experience of developing and improving data collection and reporting systems
