Job summary
As part of our departmental expansion, we are thrilled to welcome three additional Band 6 radiographers to our team. We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals with fresh ideas who can contribute their knowledge and collaborate effectively with our existing team. One scanner operates from 8 am to 9 pm, seven days a week, while the other scanner runs from 9 am to 6 pm, five days a week, with the possibility of extending its operating hours. The post holder will be expected to demonstrate skill and expertise in some areas of MR scanning (like scanning neuro, MSK and some other body scans) full participant in the standby system on some bank holidays and Christmas period.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to work within departmental standard operating procedures and legal guidelines to ensure that examinations are performed safely. Patient-centered care will be at the forefront of the post holder's clinical and professional practice, and they will demonstrate clinical skills that provide the highest standards possible. They will always exercise adherence to patient confidentiality legislation and maintain information governance standards.

North Mid is part of North Central London integrated care system - consisting of the NHS and Local authority organisations in Camden, Islington, Barnet, Enfield and Haringey. The role involves evaluating and approving referrals for radiology procedures in accordance with guidelines set by MHRA and RCR, prioritizing patient safety during MRI procedures. This includes ensuring completion of MR safety questionnaires, investigating contraindications, and collaborating with the team and patients when absolute contraindications are identified. Liaising with referrers for appropriate imaging examinations, and providing high-quality clinical care. Additionally, the role encompasses using advanced software on specialized MRI equipment, reviewing images for additional sequences, and promptly addressing imaging abnormalities while upholding patient care standards.
