The North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust is seeking to recruit highly motivated, experienced, knowledgeable of the hospital environment housekeeper to join our friendly team on S2 Ward.
Main duties of the job
The ideal candidate will be available to start as soon as possible on a full time contract in the diverse Trust in North London.
S2 ward is a 30 bedded Ward with single sex bays providing acute medical care with a primary focus on respiratory care (PREVIOUSLY CARED FOR SURGICAL PATIENTS). We receive patients directly from A and E and from in patient wards. Patients from the ages of 16 years old are cared for under the following specialties, Respiratory, General medicine, Haematology and Gastroenterology and others.

Job responsibilities
To act as Housekeeper, ensuring the patient service and the clinical environment are managed and maintained to appropriate standards.
To maintain a high standard of cleanliness without direct supervision.
To support the ward/department staff in the smooth running of their areaand to come into contact with patients.
The post holder will be instrumental in ensuring stock requirements in S2are met.
The post holder is required to use their initiative and take responsibility for themselves and the quality of their work and the service they provide to patients.
The post will be required to have knowledge of the IT system (stock ordering, procurement and escalation in timely fashion) to have an overview on the stock of consumable as well as non consumable items.
The post holder will participate in patient meal time activity supporting patients who needs help with feeding ( breakfast, lunch and dinner). Ensuring patients receives regular snacks, hot or cold drinks catered to their care needs by working closely with the Nursing staff.
The post holder will be responsible to ensure the ward stock budget is maintained to prevent over stocking.
The post holder will support the ward nurses with bed making and enhance care where necessary.
