DIVISIONAL SERVICE/SPECIALITY CLINICAL CODING TEAM LEAD
BAND 6 (plus 17.5% R+R and HCA)
An exciting and vibrant opportunity is now available for two Divisional Service/Speciality Clinical Coding Team Leads to join the growing clinical coding department based in North London.
The potholder will be the key coding lead for a Divisional Service Unit; the post will also involve the day-to-day coding, supervision of the coding team and largely be responsible for assisting the Head of Clinical Coding in developing systems and strategies to improve the overall quality of clinical coding. This will incorporate mentoring, internal auditing and training of clinical coders when required, with a strong component of liaison with clinical staff. Candidates therefore must be Accredited Clinical Coders. This position includes hybrid working which is subject to change depending on department needs.
You will be part of an established team in promoting Clinical Coding and HRG's to Clinicians, Junior doctors, other health professionals and various levels of clerical staff and ensuring collection of good quality data.
Leadership skills, commitment to meet all the deadlines and an enthusiastic approach to work are essential.

Main duties of the job
The day to day supervision of the clinical coding team. To code clinical coding data to a high standard and be responsible for leasing with consultants and clinicians as a major component.
Develop and maintain good staff relations and levels of discipline within the department, in line with Trust policies and procedures. Support the development and implementation of training programs for the clinical coding service to improve quality and accuracy of coding.
Develop efficient processes and manage workloads to ensure suitable staff coverage is maintained across the Trust at all times to meet strict deadlines.
About us
The Clinical Coding department is a part of the Finance and Performance directorate which also consists of the Informatics department that are responsible for all Trust management information, reporting both externally and internally. Informatics also provides vital management information to clinicians and managers that provide the basis for decision making across the Trust.
