Perinatal Mental Health Caseloading Midwife - Magnolia Team

Band 6

Maternal mental health is a life-saving, crucial and growing area of practice attracting new funding and bringing together some of the most passionate and skilled health professionals in the NHS. Are you one of those professionals? Do you want to make a difference?

In the last 12 months 13% (597) of women at the North Mid presented with an exisiting mental health problem Untreated this can have a devastating impact on the women affected and their families.

Being a part of this team of great midwives you will help change how we care for these women . It will enable you to work in partnership and build trusting relationships and ensure the best possible outcomes for these families. You will be an integral part of the new and ever expanding multidisciplinary PNMH team here at the North Mid!

Main duties of the job

What will this mean for me?

Part of a innovative modified case loading team of 8 midwives

Managing your own off duty and working times & no on call

Based in a state of the art medical centre in Tottenham High Street

Mixed caseload of 65-70 women a year providing enhanced antenatal & Postnal care to day 28

Build relationships with your women

Improve outcomes for these families

Help run alternative therapy classes

The maternity unit has some of the best facilities in the UK including:

  • a new modern eight-bed, midwife-led birth centre with four birthing pools
  • a 14-bed consultant-led unit with senior consultant obstetric cover
  • two dedicated operating theatres with recovery suites and high dependency care facilities
  • a modern neonatal unit with 28 neonatal cots
  • a modern maternity day unit
  • a dedicated 24/7 maternity triage area
  • a spacious outpatient area for antenatal gynaecological and scanning appointments
  • 31 bedded ward for inpatient antenatal and postnatal mothers and babies
  • An innovational and dedicated 5 bedded ward for the management of early pregnancy loss.
