Job summary
As a clerical and administrative support to the General Surgery Team, you will be responsible for ensuring national and local targets are met and the hospitals SOP and processes are followed. You will be assisting the patient pathway by ensuring the referral to treatment for the patient is of the highest quality. The post holder will be responsible for validation and accurate recording on the Hospitals Careflow system and supporting the reduction of patient DNAs. Working under the direction of the Service Support Manager for General Surgery, the post holder will provide support with the day to day running of the service.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for communicating with patients and their relatives regarding their appointments and admissions details both verbally and in writing.
To assist in capacity and demand exercises to identify constraints and areas for improvement.
To assist in the validation and performance management of PTL monitoring, ensuring booking, data recording, clinic and elective admissions outcomes of the patient pathways are proactively managed in order to achieve 18 week targets.
Be responsible to the Service Support Manager for providing a user focused administrative service to the General Surgery Team.
Ensure effective tracking of patients along the care pathway and monitoring of the waiting time targets.
Provide cross cover within the team as and when required.
Work flexible hours as required by the needs of the service.
Ensure full compliance with the Trusts waiting list policy in line with the national 18-week target.
