Main duties of the job

About us
The paediatric department is committed to training and education, and is recognised as one of the best training sites in London. The successful applicant will be encouraged to attend weekly paediatric teaching and regional Paediatric Emergency Medicine training days, and will also be expected to contribute to the provision of teaching to members of the multidisciplinary team. Our innovative 'ABC Parents' community outreach project provides education on basic child illnesses to local parents, and we enable junior paediatric ED doctors to support this project if they so wish.

The department has a strong drive towards Quality Improvement and successful applicants will be encouraged to shape the future of the department through guideline and pathway development and project work, with supported training for this. The department is a member site of PERUKI (Paediatric Emergency Research in UK and Ireland), participating in national and international research projects.
