Job summary
We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic candidate to the role of Apprentice Clinic Receptionist for our Silverpoint Echo Sexual Health clinic to provide a high level administrative service to all patients and staff within the department.
This role will consist of 37.5 hours per week to be worked as a 8:30am - 4:30pm shifts Monday through Friday to provide a comprehensive administrative support service to the clinicians on the unit. One day per week will be taken as a study day to enable completion of your course, and successful completion of this will lead to substantive employment with the Trust.
Main duties of the job
The clinic receptionist is a key role within the Sexual Health & HIV administrative function for a number of reasons. This includes being the first point of contact for all visitors to our Silverpoint Echo Sexual Health clinic, maintaining all administrative functions and databases, assisting with queries from patients and visitors and escalating to clinical staffing as appropriate, and maintaining patient records as required.
This role sits within the Sexual Health & HIV Administrative service, and the postholder will work Monday - Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm in this role. Uniform will be provided to the postholder and the successful candidate will report directly to the Sexual Health and HIV Team Leader, who will act as the first line for any and all queries.
The successful postholder must have good IT & communicational skills, and be able to deal with changing priorities and workloads, and be able to work both autonomously and as part of a wider team. Cross-cover may be required, and all administrative are trained to be able to work in all ward areas as required.

HIV services
The Alexander Pringle centre (APC) is a self-contained outpatient unit based in the North Middlesex Hospital and offers general HIV outpatient care and inpatient care. The service sees on average 1.300 patients per year and provides day cases to patients requiring treatment.
Sexual Health Services
North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust was awarded a contract in 2015 to set up and provide integrated Sexual Health Services to the population of Enfield and undertakes this in the community through the Echo Sexual Health service, a Level 2 GUM clinic based at a local GP practice, and the purpose-built Silverpoint Clinic providing a full range of provisions to the residents of the borough.
It provides services encompassing all contraception methods and levels 1-3 GUM plus specialist sexual health & contraception. Access to services is currently by phone triage and booked appointments. Highly skilled nurses deliver a significant proportion of services including LARC procedure services. Average patient numbers seen within the service per annum are in excess of 20,000.
