An exciting opportunity has become available for a Band 5 Nurse to work within the 0-19 Community Servicein Enfield. The successful post holder will work in our School Health Service. This is an excellent opportunityfor professional growth and development.
The successful post holder will be a Registered Nurse who will work under the line management of a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN) - School Nurse. The post holder will have a delegated caseload under supervision of the SCPHN School Nurse. The post holder will have a responsibility to carry out specific interventions for children, young people and their families. The post holder will work in partnership with all members of the 0 -19 service and other agencies to ensure that excellent standards of care are provided.
This is a post suitable for a Band 5 Nurse who should have an interest in or a willingness to develop andextend specialised skills and knowledge.

Main duties of the job
To support school nurses in delivering the Healthy Child Programme 5-19 years and North Middlesex Universal Hospital Trust (Enfield) School Nursing service specification, within the commissioning criteria.
To work with the school nursing skill mix team to improve health and life outcomes for children and families within a defined community through delivering packages of care following assessment by the school nurse.
To participate in the development of services and health improvement activities.
To work in collaboration with other health care and service providers, including social services, schools, families, young people and children to identify and address health needs as part of the Healthy Child Programme.

To support the delivery of 0-19 Universal Services including the Healthy Child Programme.
To participate in the development of skill mix within the 0-19 Services.
To assess the health needs of the child and community involving the carer and / or child in the process of meeting those health needs under the delegation of the Specialist Community Public Health Nurse.
To monitor the health of the child and to involve the carers in promoting optimum healthand development of the child.
To undertake specific pieces of work supporting vulnerable children and young families,under clear guidance and support of named caseload holder and within both nationaland local safeguarding guidelines and protocols.
To liaise with other agencies statutory and voluntary and maintain good workingrelationships, making referrals and consulting as necessary with the informed consent ofclients and within the policies of the unit.
Liaising with the Specialist Community Public Health Nurse prior to referrals made.
To be aware of the deviations from the norm in health and behaviour and to intervene toprotect vulnerable children by prompt action, by referral and working with othercolleagues and agencies as part of a specialist team. Examples include SafeguardingInterventions, Health Needs Assessment and Referral.
