An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated person to work in our Occupational Therapy team in the London Spinal Cord Injury Centre at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust.

You will be supporting our team of Occupational Therapist to provide both clinical and administrative technical support in the London Spinal Cord Injury Centre

Main duties of the job

The postholder the fulfils an essential role in the smooth running of the team through management of therapeutic stock levels as well as providing guided hands on therapy'.

About us

They will be joining the Team of 9 Occupational Therapy staff on LSCIC and that they would be one to two technicians fulfilling this role.

Job description

Job responsibilities

To provide specific, clinical and technical, skilled support work to aid the rehabilitation of Adults and Children admitted under Spinal Injuries Unit.

To provide administrative support as defined by the team, as appropriate to own level of experience.

To follow a structured induction and a suitable period of training to meet competency levels. Assess and carry out Therapy Interventions with guidance from qualified Therapy Staff.

To assist with the teaching and supervision of exercises and functional activities, individually and in groups, and provide feedback to the multidisciplinary team on patients' progress.

To organise and maintain stocks of specialist equipment, including wheelchairs, along with other regular duties to ensure the smooth running of the department.

To organise and maintain stock levels and ensure equipment is cleaned according to RNOH infection control guidelines.

To participate in regular supervision, IPR and other one off projects as delegated by Senior Staff.

To supply patients requiring walking aids / equipment, instructing patients on their safe use.

Additional note: Candidates will be expected to attend Face to Face the interview on RNOH site. We will not be supporting sponsorship applications for this post.
