Job summary

Children's Research Nurse - Flexible Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Children's Research Nurse to support our expanding clinical trial portfolio of rare metabolic conditions and to help grow research involving young people across other specialities within our Trust.

We welcome applications from experienced children's nurses, including those new to research who can bring strong clinical expertise and transferable skills to our team.

Banding will depend on the candidate's experience and skill set, and we are open to part-time hours and internal secondments.

Main duties of the job

o Recruiting into a portfolio of trials/studies involving children and young people.

o Working with different personnel, departments and external stakeholders involved in clinical research.

o Involved in the patient pathway and care planning within research, alongside the delivery team and Investigator.

o Utilising clinical skills within research.

o Managing relevant databases and site files.

o Training others and maintaining own continuous professional development.

o Acting as an advocate and point of contact for research involving children and young people in the organisation.

Clinical Research1. Work with Delivery Team to deliver on trials involving children and young people.2. Work independently and autonomously to manage complex trial portfolio and able to delegate where appropriate.3. Screening and recruiting eligible patients to research studies.4. Working closely with Senior Clinical Research Nurse, Senior Clinical Research Practitioners and Delivery Team Lead to ensure structure and organisation for the delivery team (applicable to Band 7).5. Assist the Investigators to identify patients to take part in research studies, ensuring adherence to the protocol.6. Liaise with all relevant clinical staff where research is being conducted.7. Be directly involved in feasibility for projects where support is required.8. Ensure participants are recruited to study timelines, and, report any concerns to Research Delivery Lead.9. Ensure accurate data is collected and entered according to sponsor timelines.10. Report any anomalies in data to the relevant Sponsor, lead Investigator and Delivery Lead.11. Report any protocol deviations to the relevant Sponsor, lead Investigator and Delivery Lead.12. Report any protocol violations to relevant Sponsor, lead Investigator and Delivery Lead.13.
