Job summary

The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust is the largest orthopaedic hospital in the UK and considered world leader in musculoskeletal discipline. One of the core aims of the RNOH's Foundation status is clinical research & academic development, which are essential in maintaining the status of specialist centre and world leader in its field.

The post holder will play key role in developing clinical research & academic capabilities with the RNOH, jointly with our key academic partners. The main purpose of the role is to lead on identifying suitable research funding opportunities for research projects developed by RNOH staff, leading on writing submissions jointly with clinicians, and management of grants (pre and post award), including funder reporting.

Main duties of the job

  • Work with Head of the Research and Innovation Centre and research leads across the site to develop a strong project development strategy and its implementation.
  • Undertake in depth analysis of current outputs and identify areas for development.
  • Identify suitable funding opportunities and present key information to stakeholders to gain approval.

  • Work closely with RNOH staff on developing project ideas.

  • Support development and education of high impact publications and education of staff on requirements for such publication.
