Main duties of the job

We are looking for someone with your skills to join our supportive and friendly team to provide acute in-patient rehabilitation and out-patient services to individuals following spinal cord injury.

You will be part of MDT team in London Spinal Injuries Unit.

About us

You will work alongside another Band 7 Occupational Therapist in the team You will be supported by the Band 8A Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist. You will be part of large Occupational Therapy service in this specialist Trust. Please see attached AHP story.

Essential

  • DipCOT/ Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists or recognised equivalent
  • Registered with Health Professions Council
  • Evidence of CPD maintained portfolio
  • Recent post graduate courses in relevant specialist area
  • Attended courses related to staff supervision/development

Desirable

  • Successful completion of recognised post-registration clinical course and / or training in specialist field such as OT with cancer patients
  • Leadership Course

Experience

Essential

  • Minimum 5 years post graduate experience
  • A broad range of rotations as a Band 5/6 including neuro- rehabilitation
  • 1 years NHS experience at Band 6 level
  • Attained a high level of clinical competence in your specialist area
  • Well reasoned account of career intentions at RNOH
  • Experience of student and staff supervision
  • Experience of leading audit in specialist area and demonstrates a sound understanding of quality issues
  • Experience of teaching junior staff and undergraduates
  • Participated in IPR
  • Involvement in national clinical interest group
