Outpatients Department Band 6 Paediatric Nurse
37.5 hours per week
An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for a dynamic individual with excellent clinical skills to join the band 6 team In our Central London Outpatients.
As a Paediatric Band 6 nurse you will be responsible for taking charge and managing the day to day flow of the department, ensuring the highest standards of care are met for patients and their relatives during their appointments.
You will be responsible for managing the shift ensuring the safety of both patients and their families and the nursing team, teaching both nursing students and qualified nurses, escalation of concerns as per department policy. Responsibilities also include liaising with the site teams and senior leadership teams as well as and providing leadership to nursing colleagues.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a qualified paediatric nurse with a good understanding of an outpatients setting along with an enthusiastic and innovative character to develop this ever evolving service.
We are looking for a candidate with confidence in supervising junior members of the team and having the ability to bring out the best in all staff.
We need someone who is approachable and helpful and will give staff a voice and a platform to provide feedback.
Have experience working within a multidisciplinary team.
You will be expected to have excellent clinical and communication skills.
Paediatric Phlebotomy is desirable.
About us
Our team consists of 9 band 3 clinic support workers, 4 qualified band 5 nurses, 2 band 6 nurses and 1 band 7 Senior Sister.
We are a close team who work hard to support each other and help each other to develop and grow. We are open to new ideas and ways of working that can improve the experience for patients and staff.
The management team are supportive with training and staff wanting to develop themselves within their career pathways.
