Job summary

The Trust is currently looking for a motivated physiotherapist to join our friendly and progressive team to enable the provision of a dedicated 7-day service to the 18 bedded Private Care Unit.

This post will suit established Band 6 physiotherapists as well as ambitious Band 5 physiotherapists who are eager to develop their career to specialise in orthopaedics.

Main duties of the job

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your clinical skills within a tertiary in-patient orthopaedic setting.

You will be responsible for the physiotherapy assessment and treatment of an interesting and complex caseload pre and post operatively that includes but is not limited to the acute inpatient treatment of upper and lower limb joint reconstruction, including sarcoma limb salvage work and spinal surgery.

About us

You will working closely with the Private Care Clinical team leaders and the unit is supported by Clinical Specialist and ESP's within the wider physiotherapy department.

You will need good communication skills, be a team player and demonstrate a flexible approach to your caseload.

  • Diploma/degree in physiotherapy
  • Registered with Health Professions Council
  • Evidence of CPD maintained portfolio including attendance at recent post graduate courses relevant to this post

Desirable

  • Involvement in CSP clinical interest group
  • Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy

Experience

Essential

  • 3 years' experience as a basic grade in a broad range of rotations including orthopaedics, out patients, respiratory care and ITU, rehabilitation
  • Experience working with patients with complex needs
  • Well-reasoned account of career intentions at RNOH
  • Experience of student or physiotherapy assistant supervision
  • Involvement in audit and understanding quality issues
  • Experience of teaching less experienced staff or students

Desirable

  • Experience in NHS
  • Involvement in research

  • Up to date knowledge of professional practice and new research
