An exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of an expanding and dynamic paediatric service at RNOH offering tailored, individualised care to children with complex musculoskeletal conditions.

You will work 08.30- 4.30 Monday to Friday and be part of a weekend rota covering a seven day service. You must demonstrate the RNOH Trust values at all times.
You will have excellent development opportunities in both clinical and non clinical areas of practice. You will be well supported by your clinical and professional Occupational Therapist supervisor, access to CPD opportunities, as well as leadership support if you are an emerging band 6 occupational therapist.
Main duties of the job
Our paediatric team is expanding and this new post will focus on creating an efficient and comprehensive transition pathway to support patients from pre-admission through to admission and then discharge.
This will involve treating patients virtually, in specialist MDT clinics and as inpatients on the ward. The ability to communicate and liaise effectively with the children's local services is essential to this role, to enable an efficient and high-quality patient pathway and experience.
You will work alongside a team of integrated specialist occupational therapists and physiotherapists who service a state of the art Children's ward. Our therapy team is made up of 3 OT's, 6 Physiotherapist's and 1 Therapy Technician. The therapists are part of a comprehensive MDT that includes, speech and language therapists, play specialists, psychologists, clinical nurse specialists, dieticians and paediatricians.
You will get regular supervision by a Band 7 Occupational Therapist and opportunities to develop your own areas of interest through audit, service development and research. Innovation and quality improvement is encouraged.

The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital is a tertiary referral centre and the largest of 5 national centres specialising in the management of bone and soft tissue cancers in the United Kingdom.
The In-patients Children's ward is based in the new Stanmore Building block which opened end of 2018 with excellent assessment and rehabilitation facilities for the patients. We also have a paediatric outpatient gym and outpatients department.
We are a small, friendly team with close working relationships with all members of the MDT. We meet daily to discuss caseload and offer peer support to our colleagues. Working within a paediatric team, we focus our treatment around child-friendly goals. We have a regular in-service training programme both within therapies and wider MDT led training.
For your professional development, you will be supported by a band 7 Occupational Therapist and the Clinical Specialist Therapy Team Lead to develop your clinical, managerial and service improvement skills, as well as having access to senior occupational therapy and physiotherapy colleagues within the wider therapies department.
