As one of our Ward Sisters/Charge nurses you will support the Ward Manager, lead a team and manage the ward on a regular basis as Nurse in Charge.Private Care is a growing division at RNOH trust.

The unit plays a vital part in the Trust strategy. As our patients have a wide range of orthopaedic conditions this offers a great opportunity to use and grow your clinical experience.
The post holder will conduct direct supervision of junior staff, manage the daily service needs of an 18 bedded specialist orthopaedic unit, all with single rooms.
Main duties of the job
Have responsibility for the ward area, providing visible professional leadership and line management for a team of nursing and support staff.
Facilitate patient flow, using problem solving and communication to ensure the effective operation of the department.
Champion and embed a culture of learning and quality improvement in the clinical area.
Communicate and work in a collaborative and co-operative manner within the multidisciplinary team, both within and externally of the Trust.
To act as the patients' advocate and ensure specific standards of service are delivered and maintained.
To maintain safe professional standards of patient care within the clinical environment through an effective process of quality assurance.
To ensure that nursing intervention provided, complies with statutory nursing obligations, encouraging excellence in practice at all times.
Ensure that the department is able to provide effective care for patients with a variety of conditions relevant but limited to the specific speciality.
Ensure the effective documentation of all patient care adhering to national and local standards.
Collect, collate, evaluate and report information, to maintain accurate patient records.
Ensure that risk management systems are adhered to and that untoward incidents are reported according to Trust Policy.
