Job summary

Assist qualified Casting Room Staff as well as patients and their families or carers with the assessment of individual casting needs, planning and implementation of casting procedures and the development of programmes of care and the implementation and evaluation of those programmes. Carry out all relevant forms of patient care required. Maintain high standards of care within the department. After 2 years post registration experience the post holder should be able to regularly take charge of the clinical area in the absence of the Sister/Charge Nurse or Department Manager.

Main duties of the job

Ensure that all patients receive a high standard of care.

Provide care to children/adults/patients with learning needs , in casts and provide a follow up advice service to their parents/carers.

Participate in the supervised application and removal of various types of casts.

About us

Our Team is small and very diverse with a wealth of knowledge in the Casting field. This vacancy would suit any someone who is very practical, and likes dealing with both adults and children.

We have a wide range of social events that staff may join locally in the department and trust events that staff also access on the Grapevine RNOH trust website.

Staff are encouraged to engage plan and participate in team building exercises. There is good support from colleagues and structured clinical development in casting within the department and other supporting departments and clinical teams.
