Job summary

We are looking for a Band 6 Physiotherapist to join us and become a specialist clinician in the London Spinal Cord Injury Centre Therapy Department. Someone to be a part of the team, provide leadership and develop the service to continue to provide the best for our patients. This is a 12 month FTC .

The team provides rehabilitation and reintegration for people of all ages and levels of spinal cord injury, from acute intervention through to reassessment of people with long standing needs. Clinical activity takes place in inpatient and outpatient settings at RNOH, as well as outreach and consultancy to other agencies. As a specialist centre, we have excellent links with our Trauma Network and other SCI centres around the country and share expertise with the other specialist clinical services here at Stanmore.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a physiotherapist who has:

  • A passion for spinal cord injury rehabilitation.
  • 3 years post graduate experience with experience working in spinal cord injury or neuro-rehabilitation and in respiratory care.
  • Excellent clinical reasoning skills.
  • Good organisational skills.

Essential

  • Diploma/degree in physiotherapy
  • Evidence of CPD maintained portfolio including attendance at recent post graduate courses relevant to this post
  • Registered with Health Professions Council

Desirable

  • Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
  • Involvement in CSP clinical interest group or other relevant professional group

Experience

Essential

  • At least 3 years' experience as a Physiotherapist
  • At least 1 years' experience as a band 6 physiotherapist
  • Undertaken a broad range of rotations including musculo-skeletal
  • At least 6 months' experience in respiratory and/or critical care
  • At least 6 months' experience in neurological physiotherapy
  • Experience treating patients with spinal cord injury
  • Experience of student or physiotherapy assistant supervision
  • Experience of teaching less experienced staff or students
  • Involvement in audit and understanding quality issues
  • Well-reasoned account of career intentions at RNOH
