An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint to a junior clinical fellow post withinCardiology. The successful candidate will gain experience working on the Cardiologyward.The post will be for 12 months, with the possibility of extension thereafter, and willinclude general medical rota experience.The successful candidate will work within a well-led environment, committed tosupporting on-going professional development. This post is ideal for those who:Have completed foundation trainingAre making the transition from core to specialist training and seekingto consolidate knowledge and experienceHave not previously worked in the NHS and seek an introduction to medicine at specialty trainee level equivalent.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will be supported by an experienced and dynamic team of consultants.A typical day when working with a team of ward based doctors would involve:Attending an MDT board round to talk about patient progress and toaid discharge planningTaking part in, and leading as appropriate, the ward round, helping it to runsmoothly.Solving problems as they arise on the wardReviewing and acting on investigation resultsCommunicating with patients and their familiesAttending a de-brief to update senior team members on progress in patient care
