Job summary

We are excited to offer this position of Band 5 Family Support Worker in our new Autism and Social Communication Assessment pathway. This post is based at Edgware Hospital in Barnet.

This is a new multidisciplinary team which is designed to provide a needs-led, family-centred approach to assessment and diagnosis for children under the age of six with neurodivergent needs.

The successful candidate will support families through the assessment journey. You will liaise with families and carers to identify their needs and share appropriate information about accessing services and local support, both before and after diagnosis. Candidates will have previous experience working with young children with neurodiversity or developmental differences. Ideally this role would suit a family member or carer of a neurodivergent child or young person, and/or someone who is neurodivergent themselves, or someone with substantial experience supporting families with neurodivergent children.

You will be joining a newly established neurodevelopmental pathway where the role of Family Support Worker is highly valued and where your development is encouraged. We have a strong commitment to supervision, CPD and joint working with a range of other agencies and professionals.

We can also offer part-time hours if more suitable.
