Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a 9-month fixed term contract (from 10.08.26 to 01.04.27) as a band 6 Rotational Neuro-Occupational Therapist (OT) within the well-established and dynamic Neurosciences department at the Royal Free Hospital, London. We provide neuro-occupational therapy services in stroke, acute neurology, sub-acute rehabilitation, critical care and inpatient neuro-rehabilitation and complex community neurological conditions at Edgware Neurological Rehabilitation Centre.
We pride ourselves on clinical excellence with involvement in exciting quality improvement projects, and strong emphasis on learning and development, with a dedicated Therapies Education and Research and Development Teams. We prioritise staff wellness and the post-holder will be well supported by experienced neuro-therapy band 7 and 8 clinicians.
Main duties of the job
Successful candidates will be expected to:
demonstrate knowledge of stroke and other neurological conditions and have experience in the treatment and management of neurological patients.
manage their own clinical caseload of stroke and neurological clients, providing specialist assessment and therapy intervention.
use evidence based/patient centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate occupational therapy interventions.
demonstrate advanced communication skills
facilitate and coordinate complex discharge planning to relevant community and inpatient rehabilitation servicesprovide clinical leadership and supervision for junior staff
supervise occupational therapy students on practice placements.participate in the weekend therapy service.
