Job summary
The Pharmacy Dispenser provides pharmaceutical services in the outpatient pharmacy department ensuring efficient and high quality customer experience is maintained.
The post holder will be working for Royal Free London Pharmacy (outpatient).
The post holder will be part of a high performing team that is expected to demonstrate behaviours that promote the outpatient pharmacy and Royal Free London values. Main duties of the job
In accordance with objectives set by the Pharmacy Manager and the Chief Technician, the post holder will be a link between patients, their carers and/or representatives, medical staff and visitors to the Pharmacy Department and Royal Free London Pharmacy staff. The post holder will take in prescriptions and handle financial transactions and safely dispense medicines. Undertaking the below responsibilities, the post holder will behave in a manner that is both sensitive and that ensures patient confidentiality at all times.
1.To be responsible for ensuring accurate receipt of all medicines received in the dispensary, including stock control.2. To assist the Pharmacy Technician in orientating new healthcare assistants and dispenser in the department.3. To participate in Continuing Professional Development and be complaint with MAST.4. To safely and accurately dispense medication.5. To provide safe and evidence based healthcare and OTC advice to patients.6. To accurately take in prescriptions and prescription monies.

CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1 Prepare labels using the pharmacy computer system and correctlyassemble prescriptions, ensuring each item is accurately dispensed andin the correct packaging, according to standard operating procedures(SOP).2. Organise the timely supply of out of stock medication to patients,prioritise and delegate to other pharmacy team members whennecessary.3.Communicate any delays in supply to the appropriate person.
4.Receive deliveries from suppliers and manufacturers.
5.Input medicines into the automated dispensing robot.
6.Check delivery accuracy against paperwork.
7.Query discrepancies and damaged stock with supplier/senior staff.
8.Securely store stock into the allocated areas ensuring rotation of stock.

1.Engender a customer first culture across the organisation ensuring high standards of professional customer service are delivered at all times within the pharmacy.
2.Ensure that strong relationships are built with our customers in order to understand their needs to deliver customer satisfaction.
3.Support the Pharmacist to conduct regular customer and stakeholder surveys to measure satisfaction.
4.Work with the Pharmacist on implementing customer service improvement plans in conjunction with the pharmacy team.
5. To provide advice on leading a healthy lifestyle.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR POLICY AND DEVELOPMENT
1.To be responsible for ensuring that he/she remains aware of currentdevelopments in Pharmacy.
2.To participate in a rotation, which may include working at other hospital sites where required.
