Job summary

The North Middlesex Hospital Staff Psychological Wellbeing Service is looking to recruit a Band 7 Psychological Therapist. We are looking for a therapist who can offer psychological therapy to staff members experiencing common mental health problems - this could be any suitably qualified Psychological Therapist, for example, a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist, an accredited CBT Therapist, Psychodynamic Psychotherapist or Systemic Psychotherapist. HCPC registration plus membership of the appropriate professional body is required.

We are looking for someone who can be part of the development of a new service model, as we move away from the acute phase of the pandemic and offer ongoing support to hospital staff, many of whom work in challenging roles.

Main duties of the job

The Staff Psychological Wellbeing Service exists to support the emotional wellbeing of all our staff. We offer a range of individual and group support options and aim to embed a culture of positive wellbeing across the whole organisation. Our staff are qualified mental health professionals who are trained to provide a range of evidence-based psychological therapies.

In addition to 1:1 therapy, we also offer the following services:

  • The Wellbeing Room: a space to relax, decompress and unwind
  • Regular, interactive, educational workshops and activities covering topics like stress management, self-care and sleep hygiene
  • Serious Incident Aftercare: we co-ordinate group debriefs following serious incidents for teams/staff groups involved in stressful or traumatic events in the workplace.
  • Outreach, Consultation & Support: we link with managers and leaders to help build culture of wellbeing into team structures and processes. We offer consultation to teams and managers to help them to better understand team dynamics and functioning, especially where this is having an impact on staff wellbeing.

We are therefore looking to recruit a therapist with an interest in training and supporting teams. The post will suit someone who is flexible and is committed to continuous improvement.
