Locum Consultant
General and Neonatal Paediatrics
2 month fixed term
8 PA post
Based at Royal Free Hampstead site
Main duties of the job
We invite applications for a post in general paediatrics with a neonatal interest, to start as possible for a period of 2 month, to cover sickness leave. The post holder will be part of the daytime general paediatric team, covering the Emergency Department and ambulatory service. They will provide general paediatric outpatient clinics and paediatric subspeciality clinics, depending on their interests. In addition to general paediatrics, this post supports our neonatal service. The postholder will undertake attending weeks on the level 1 neonatal unit and will join a 1:8 neonatal consultant on-call-from-home rota at the Royal Free Hospital site. It is necessary for the post holder to have Level 2/3 Neonatal experience and to be confident in managing neonatal emergencies. There is a consultant resident on site 24 hours and the postholders will be on call from home for the neonatal unit. There is an additional general paediatric consultant on call from home to support the paediatric service. There is currently no resident night component to this post.

- Registered with the GMC and within 6 months of being accepted for the specialist register for paediatrics
- APLS/NLS provider

- Demonstrable knowledge of the environment in which the service needs to be delivered
- Experience in Children's safeguarding.
