Paediatric Atopy Nurse

Job summary

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic candidate to join our team in the position of Paediatric Atopy Nurse providing a full service of atopy services to our Paediatric Respiratory, Clinical Immunology, and Allergy services within our Children's Outpatient Department.

This post is offered on a substantive basis working full time hours Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will care for babies, children, young people (BCYP) and their families affected by various allergic conditions, including asthma, attending North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust.

Key working requirements include the requirements of the postholder;

  • To support children with allergies and their families by undertaking skin prick testing, respiratory function tests, supporting the food challenge service, assessing concordance with therapy, and educating families on personalised management plans and devices for their chronic conditions.
  • The post holder will support the inpatient wards, emergency department and health care professionals in primary care and educational settings in providing holistic atopy care to BCYP in our community.
  • To participate in clinical audits and service development working towards the allergy team objectives.
