Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Registered Nurse to join our colorectal team as an Associate Band 6 Clinical Nurse specialist. Working alongside the band 7 colorectal CNS, you will provide high quality evidence based care to patients with bowel cancer throughout their treatment journey,
You will be a registered nurse with a current NMC registration, experience in colorectal nursing or a strong willingness to undertake relevant competencies and training. Have excellent communication and organizational skills and passionate about delivering patient centered care and supporting individuals through complex treatment pathways.
Main duties of the job
Support patients through diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up, ensuring compassionate and holistic care. Prepare cases for the Colorectal Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) meetings, ensuring data completeness and accuracy. Complete Macmillan Holistic Needs Assessments and signpost patients to appropriate services. Collaborate with the wider multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes. Contribute to service development initiatives and quality improvements . You will be expected to provide education and training to patients , relatives and junior members of staff.
