Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be expected to manage their own clinical caseload across the areas covered by the team: medical and neurological wards. They will also need to supervise dietetic students as required.

The successful candidate will thrive when working closely as part of a multi-disciplinary team and will be keen to develop their skills in service development and audit as well as their clinical knowledge. We pride ourselves in being a forward-thinking department with a strong commitment to continuing professional development.

They will be required to contribute to education for the MDT, patients and families as well as support student placements. They will also get the opportunity to participate in Quality Improvement projects and undertake and present evidence based projects. This can then contribute to their self-led professional development whilst representing the outcomes of the important work that we do.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, the ability to work well in a team, and a positive and flexible approach is essential.

About us

The successful applicant will be joining an established Therapy Team of Physiotherapists, Dietitians, Speech & Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Therapy Support Workers supported by a Clinical Lead Therapist and a Professional Lead Dietitian. They will be encouraged to take an active role in current projects, including service development and evaluation; internal and external training; audit and research review.

The post holder will be working in a rewarding and challenging clinical environment. The Therapies department at Barnet Hospital is committed to ensuring staff feel supported with career progression through regular supervision, appraisal, in-house / external training and leadership development.
