Main duties of the job
Main duties are outlined in the job description and person specification attached.
The post holder will be a highly skilled and experienced member of the nursing team responsible for the operational running of the pre-assessment clinics. You will be a clinical expert and an effective role model in all aspects of pre-assessment.
You will be expected to liaise appropriately with all the key members of the multi-disciplinary team. You will be responsible for all aspects of patient care including the assessment, planning , delivery and evaluation of a high standard of care to patients and their families, according to our world class values and in accordance with agreed policies and within available resources. You will take overall responsibility for ensuring safer staffing and the monitoring of planned versus actual staffing levels. A focus on patient and colleague feedback in order to change and drive forward service delivery improvements is a crucial element of this senior role. You will be expected to lead on the effective use of resources, i.e. pay and non-pay budget, human resources and the clinical environment. You will ensure the compliance of mandatory training and appraisal requirements for all members of the ward team.
You will be expected to support the Senior Matron in ensuring the safety and effectiveness of the department
