Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic Dietitian to support the Obstetrics and Gynaecology service at Royal Free North Middlesex Health unit site.
The post holder will be a key player in facilitating good patient care for women's services, across inpatients and outpatients. This will include close and effective joint working with therapy colleagues andMDT, and you should have excellent communication. This post is part-time and hours are negotiable.
The Dietetic Department is part of the Therapies Department: Dietitians, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Speech & Language Therapists.
You will be supported and supervised by a Band 7 Dietitian. You will have the opportunity to be involved in research, audits and other service development initiatives. You will be required to participate in seven day service on a rota basis. You will be involved in student training for your area.
The dietetic department undertakes student training for 2 and 3 placements. Both the Dietetic Department and NMUH have a robust continuous professional development (CPD) programme, and are committed to providing excellent line management, supervision/support and specialist training. In order to support you in this role, you would receive training and supervision tailored to your needs.
Main duties of the job
To be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of your caseload, including the management of patients in your care. To ensure a high standard of clinical care for the patients under your management, and support more junior staff to do likewise.
To provide a comprehensive Nutrition and Dietetic Service to the specialist gestational diabetes across assessment units, inpatient and outpatient services at the North Middlesex UniversityHospital NHS Trust.
To provide cover for other areas/wards as and when required as part of the Trust/department needs/pressures.
To contribute to the development and provision of educationprogrammes for patients and staff within and out-with the Trust.
To work with the dietetic services manager and contribute to producing, implementing, and updating department/relevant policies and procedures.
To contribute to, and regularly participate in research and audit within the wider Dietetic Service. To participate in seven day service on a rota basis.To undertake student training for this area.
Multidisciplinary team working, close liaison between acute and community teams.
