Job summary
We are seeking a proactive, enthusiastic and highly skilled individual who thrives in a fast paced medical assessment setting and is passionate about delivering high quality patient care. The post holder will be expected to liaise appropriately with all key members of the multidisciplinary team and service users related to the speciality including the management of patient flow from the Emergency Department and outflow to the wider hospital wards.
To be responsible for all aspects of patient care including the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of direct patient care.
Main duties of the job
To take the lead on delegated responsibilities as defined by the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse.To support the Charge Nurse/Senior Sister to monitor the safety and quality of care forpatients.In the absence of the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse to be responsible for the day-to-day management of the unit.To manage a delegated group of Band 5 staff ensuring compliance of mandatory training andappraisal requirements.
To ensure a positive focussed service incorporating patients' feedback to maintain andimprove patient care.To act as an effective role model promoting excellence through practice.
