Job summary
We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic candidate to join our Babies, Children's, & Young People's Division in the position of Service Manager, and is offered on a permanent basis working 37.5 hours per week, with working patterns to be agreed upon appointment.
This post will be primarily based at our Barnet & Chase Farm hospital providing leadership support to the Children's Administration functions, but may be required to provide support to our North Middlesex University Hospital & Royal Free Hospital sites on occasion.

Main duties of the job
The postholder will support the General Manager & Assistant General Manager in the day-to-day operational management of the service. This role will be primarily based at one site but the postholder will be expected where required to travel and have clear visibility across all health unit sites within their remit.
Key responsibilities
- To manage administrative and support teams within the service / directorate.Deliver appraisal and mandatory training requirements for all staff within these teams.
- Implement the directorate performance management systems ensuring that Trust and monitor standards are understood and adhered to and that performance reports are produced to enable service performance compliance.
- Support the governance arrangements within the service/ directorate including audit, complaints, incidents, risk and health and safety.
- To be responsible to the assistant general manager for financial performance relating to delegated budgets and operational performance of the service / directorate.
- Deputise for the assistant general manager and represent the divisions in in meetings as required.
- Support the assistant general manager in developing service development plans to align national direction/strategies and local priorities.
