Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and highly organised individual to join the Chronic Fatigue (ME/CFS) Service at the Royal Free Hospital as a Clinical Pathway Navigator on a 12-month fixed term contract.
This non-clinical administrative role sits within the Infection Directorate and is key to ensuring the smooth coordination of patient pathways, accurate data capture, and compliance with Trust standards.
The postholder will work with a high level of autonomy, providing specialist administrative and coordination support to clinicians and patients in this complex and challenged service. You will help ensure that patients progress through their care pathway efficiently, that all data is complete and accurate, and that governance requirements are fully met.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organisational, data, and communication skills who is passionate about improving patient experience through high-quality administrative support.
Main duties of the job

Manage the Patient Tracking List (PTL) and ensure all patient pathway data is accurate, complete, and compliant with Trust and national standards.

Coordinate the patient journey from referral to discharge, liaising with clinicians, referrers, and administrative colleagues to maintain timely progress.

Follow up with clinicians on outstanding administrative actions to support good governance and data integrity.

Provide comprehensive administrative support to the ME/CFS multidisciplinary team, including scheduling, minute taking, correspondence, and data reporting.

Act as a non-clinical point of contact for patients and carers, providing clear and compassionate information about appointments and pathway progress.

Support cross-cover arrangements and assist other services within the Infection Directorate as required to maintain service continuity.

Work proactively and independently to resolve pathway issues, escalate concerns, and contribute to service improvement initiatives.
