Job summary
The Royal Free Hepatology team are seeking an experienced administrator with excellent communication skills and a high degree of empathy to engage and support patients to attend their medical appointments.
The goal is to ensure a smooth pathway for patients with suspected liver disease from diagnosis through to treatment and follow up as part of a liver surveillance programme which aims to detect liver cancer at an early stage, so that patients can benefit from curative treatment.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will:
- Work with the clinical and operational teams to provide a high quality, effective administrative support across two liver disease surveillance projects
- Provide a point of contact for patients identified via the liver surveillance pathway
- Provide streamlined administration processes around the patient and their individual needs, ensuring clinic appointments are made and communicated to the patient
- Increase the number of patients identified via the Community Liver Health Check project being offered liver surveillance
- Work closely with the HCC (hepatocellular carcinoma - liver cancer) MDT (multi-disciplinary team) to support the adoption of a recall database to ensure a robust system for tracking patients
- Participate in and identify ways of development for the liver surveillance pathways
