Job summary
This is a full-time, substantive post (10 Programmed Activities) for a Consultant Diagnostic Cross Sectional Radiologist at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust.
The successful candidate will join a dynamic team to support and deliver a world-class Chest and Cardiac imaging service, as well as contribute to the department's general workload.
? Key Requirements & Responsibilities
Essential: The role requires an individual with excellent specialist skills and sub-speciality training in Chest and Cardiac Imaging. Strong general radiology abilities are also necessary.
Clinical Duties: Responsibilities include supporting all aspects of the chest and cardiac service , competently interpreting and reporting studies , and prior experience leading and presenting at chest/Oncology MDTs.
Desirable: Competence in performing lung biopsies is desirable.
Team & Training: The post holder will join a team of 7 sub-speciality chest and cardiac radiologists. A key part of the role is supporting the registrar training programme and supervising junior trainees.
Location & On-Call: This is a cross-site post, covering Royal Free Hampstead, Barnet, Chase Farm, and North Middlesex University Hospitals. The successful candidate will participate in a general on-call rota at the Royal Free site, currently at a 1:18 frequency
Main duties of the job

Clinical & Specialist Duties
Support all aspects of the RFL Chest and cardiac imaging service.
Competently interpret and report Chest and cardiac studies, as well as general imaging, independently.
Lead and present at chest/Oncology MDTs (Multi-Disciplinary Teams) independently.
Demonstrate competence in all aspects of chest/cardiac imaging.
Provide professional clinical advice to referring clinicians and hospital management.
Competence in performing lung biopsies is desirable.
Training & Professional Development
Supervise and train specialty trainees and teach other junior trainees, medical students, and hospital staff.
Participate in the undergraduate teaching programme.
Participate in Continuing Professional Development (CPD), clinical audit, and quality assurance activities, including annual appraisal and revalidation.
General & Trust ResponsibilitiesContribute to the general workload of the department.
Work in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver services in line with performance KPIs.
Participate in the general on-call rota at the Royal Free site (currently 1:18).
Participate (where appropriate) in service development and policy review.
Champion and lead by example on the values of the Trust.
Support infection prevention & control and antimicrobial stewardship activities.
Ensure compliance with Trust mandatory training.
