Job summary
The post holder will assist the PACS&RIS Site Leads in the management of RIS (RadiologyInformation System) and PACS (Picture Archiving Communication System) and any otherfuture systems implemented. The post holder will be responsible for administrative andgeneral support to the PACS&RIS Site Leads and other key staff, and supervise thePACS&RIS Administrators, co-ordinating workload and the strategic development withinImaging and the Group Clinical Services Division. The post holder will also oversee themanagement and co-ordination of the PACS and RIS pathways at the Community DiagnosticCentre based at Finchley Memorial Hospital and oversee the management of the outsourcingand insourcing for the Trust when requires. The post holder will be expected to resolve day-today problems independently and will act as the first point of contact for enquiries from usersand third parties. The post holder will also be required to maintain data quality to a highstandard. They will deputise and represent the PACS and RIS Site Leads in their absence, e.g.attend meetings, manage enquiries and send out necessary communication to relevantmanagement levels and staff groups. The post holder will be a senior presence within thePACS team and will be involved in developing training plans and support the Site leads indeveloping and harmonise efficient Standard Operating Procedures and cross-site working
Main duties of the job
As a Senior PACS and RIS administrator you may be required to deputise for the PACS and RIS Team leaders as well and supervise, train and manage the other PACS and RIS administrators. You may also be involved in leading projects and other quality improvement and data quality tasks. You will help to manage the clinical systems in the Diagnostic Imaging department across the Trust. These systems include the Picture Archive Computer System (PACS), and Radiology Information System (RIS). The post holder will help to maintain these systems and also run and action data quality reports for PACS/RIS to ensure that all examinations performed within Imaging are actioned and reported.
They will also be first line contact for any downtime issues with the above named systems.
The post holder with liaise with a number of different health care professionals inside and outside of Radiology.
