Job summary
The ICU Lead Clinical Technician will provide technical leadership within the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), ensuring the safe and effective use of bedside equipment and supporting high standards of patient care. The post holder will lead and manage the Clinical Technologists and associated support teams, deliver technical training, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize critical care services.
Main duties of the job
- Represent the department in senior leadership and multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Line manage Clinical Technologists and other designated staff (including ICU Housekeeping and Portering teams).
- Act as the technical lead for all ICU bedside equipment, ensuring functionality, safety, and readiness for clinical use.
- Spend at least 25% of working time in clinical practice to support patient care and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless delivery of care to critically ill patients.
