Job summary

The medical equipment library section of medical electronics provides delivery, collection and decontamination services of the medial equipment and pressure area care mattresses to the wards/ clinical areas within the trust.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is expected to be the first line of contact for our customers, both over the phone and in person. S/he will provide the customer service core around which the section functions therefore be helpful, clear and consistent in presenting departmental policies, and able to communicate effectively with a wide range of internal and external contacts on both administrative and daily operational matters.The post holder is responsible for ensuring that, in compliance with our policies, only items with the correct paperwork are accepted into the department and also ensure the return of items to the user are cleaned, serviced and in a working order.The post holder is expected to have (or to quickly develop) a knowledge of the common medical and laboratory equipment used in the trust, also need to appreciate the urgency of requests and understand when problems need to be escalated.The post holder will have a general administrative role, includes filing and entering data in the various databases such as TRACE and medical equipment database.The post holder will be familiar with basic office software, able to copy type, and be able to effectively use databases and spreadsheets.
