Job summary
The Neurodiversity Team is a multidisciplinary team that includes (but is not limited to) parents, speech, and language therapists (SLT), occupational therapists (OT), paediatricians, clinical psychologists, administrators, the voluntary sector, and educators.
The successful candidate will work as an Occupational therapist in the Neurodiversity Enfield team for children 0-6. This is a multidisciplinary team which is designed to improve assessment waiting times whilst also providing needs-led, family-centred support for children under the age of six with neurodivergent learning needs. This includes psychoeducation on Neurodiversity and areas of need such as toileting, behaviour, and sleep.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will possess expertise in assessing and supporting children, young people, and families (CYPF) with neurodivergent learning needs. This will include assessment, providing second opinions, offering specialist advice, and developing and delivering training for families and external services, such as healthcare providers and community partners. The position requires an OT capable of working effectively and flexibly within an interdisciplinary framework, engaging with various professionals in a multidisciplinary and multi-agency environment. This includes collaboration with community providers, speech, and language therapists (SLT), psychologists, dieticians, paediatricians, physiotherapists, and other allied health professionals, as well as Experts by Experience (parents of neurodivergent children).
The post holder will be responsible for fostering strong relationships and facilitating communication between the Neurodiversity Team and the OT Community Team to optimise service delivery. Additionally, you will participate in service improvement initiatives and contribute to quality enhancement efforts within the team.
