Job summary
We are seeking to appoint 3 fixed term locum consultants in General Paediatrics for a hybrid role of Senior Decision Making between the Paediatric Emergency Department and the General Paediatricteam
Main duties of the job
The proposed job plan is annualised based on a 42-week working year for 3 months. The post holders will work between Paediatric ED and General Paediatric ward, to support flow and expedite triage and direct to Paediatric patients to support the busy winter period.This post will participate in 1:3 weekday and weekend rota. Consultants will be expected to cover paediatric assessment unit and A&E and be resident onsite till 10pm, the shift patterns will be 12 hours per day 7 days a week between 3 8PA consultantsThe Paediatric Department consists of a Children's Ward (24 beds), Pluto day unit (6 beds) and Paediatric outpatient clinic. The department also provides Level 1 POSCU services at this site. The Level 2 Neonatal Unit has 30 cots, 4 of which are equipped for intensive care, 6 High Dependency anda 4-bed transitional care ward
