Your Impact

Asa developing Clinical Lead, you will be provided to have the supported opportunity to ?Oversee the organisation and development ofadult community SLT services?Providehighly specialist adviceto the rehabilitation and therapy teams.?Leadclinical governance, service audits, and quality improvement initiatives.?Manage acomplex caseload, usingadvanced clinical reasoning and problem-solvingskills.?Workstrategically with AHP Leads and senior stakeholdersto enhance service delivery.

The Adult Speech and Language Service (Adult SLT) is part of the North Mid in the Community (NMUH Trust) which has merged with the RFH. The Clinical Lead for Adult SLT in Enfield will ensure the service provides a very high standard of adult speech and language therapy to patients and carers in a community setting and to meet the needs of the multicultural and diverse population ensuring patient focused pathways of care are developed and maintained. If you are a B7, with moderate experience you will receivefull support for CPD, leadership training, and career progression to take you from B7 to B8a.

You will act as a resource of highly specialist advice to the rest of the community rehabilitation and therapy services and others within wider Trust multidisciplinary services. You will establish excellent liaison and communication with other relevant services and organisations in order to achieve seamless care for the patients referred to the service.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

  • RCSLT Recognised Diploma/Degree in SLT
  • HCPC Registered.
  • Evidence of up to date RCSLT CPD portfolio
  • RCSLT Recognised Postgraduate dysphagia Qualification.
  • RCSLT Attendance at relevant Post-Graduate Courses.

Desirable

  • A qualification at Master's Degree level or equivalent, in a relevant subject relating to this client group
  • Member of relevant CEN.

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

Essential

  • Experience of working with out-patients and community MDT setting
  • Experience in clinical supervision
  • Experience in working with diverse cultures and with complex clinical problems.
  • Recent and extensive experience at advanced practitioner (Band 7) level in relevant area, including substantial experience of adult dysphagia management, within an NHS setting
  • Extensive and diverse experience of working with patients with acquired neurological conditions.
  • Experience of developing and managing a team
  • Experience of delivering training packages to carers regarding dysphagia & communication.
  • Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC): Experience of assessment and implementation of low and high-tech AAC
