Job summary
This is an exciting time to be working with us. The Royal Free is one of the biggest NHS Trusts in the UK, delivering care to over 1.6 million people a year through our 4 main hospitals: Barnet, Chase Farm, Royal Free and North Middlesex.
The Royal Free provides many tertiary surgical and acute services for the North Central London sector, which includes kidney and liver transplantation, surgery, oncology and NET, health serves for elderly people, stroke and neurology, renal, intensive care, respiratory and coronary care.
This post will enable you to develop clinical skills within an experienced and supportive environment covering a varied caseload. You will be supported by the team to provide high quality evidence based dietetic care to patients across various modalities, working as part of an MDT. Experience of working with enteral tube feeding as well as oral nutrition support is essential.

Main duties of the job
- As an autonomous practitioner, take responsibility for the provision of a specialist, evidence-based dietetic service to inpatients in conjunction with the Clinical Specialist Dietitians and designated Therapy team/s.
- Contribute to the nutritional management of in-patients in selected general clinical areas with sound clinical reasoning.
- Where needed, to take an active role in junior therapy staff development, student supervision and in own continuing professional development.
- Deliver education and training to patients, carers and other healthcare professionals including nursing staff, therapists and assistants.
- Undertake and present evidence-based projects and research, including quality improvement and audit. Suggesting practice changes and updating resources under supervision.
